12 Bible Verses for Teens (KJV) to Memorize This Year

One verse a month for a year. These twelve cover the things teens actually face: identity, pressure, fear, friendships and the future. Youth leaders can use them as a year-long memory challenge.

  1. January — 1 Timothy 4:12: “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
  2. February — Psalm 139:14: “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
  3. March — Joshua 1:9: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
  4. April — Proverbs 3:5–6: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (meaning)
  5. May — Romans 12:2: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
  6. June — Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (meaning)
  7. July — 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
  8. August — Psalm 119:9: “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.”
  9. September — Ecclesiastes 12:1: “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…”
  10. October — 1 Peter 5:7: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
  11. November — Isaiah 41:10: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee…” (meaning)
  12. December — John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (meaning)

Tips for memorizing

  • Say it out loud once in the morning and once at night.
  • Write it on your phone lock screen.
  • Memorize with a friend and quiz each other.
